07 JUL + MINNESOTA

CEREMONY AND RECEPTION

We will be celebrating the first chapter of our wedding right here in Minnesota. In honor of Harmony’s Czech heritage, we will gather together at an evening ceremony and reception at the Czech and Slovak Sokol Hall of Minnesota. Built in 1887, it is the longest serving Czech-Slovak hall in continuous use in the United States.

There won’t be a sit down meal, but there will be plenty of snacks (and late night pizza!), drinks and music, so bring your dancing shoes!

Parking is a little tight around the wedding venue, so think about grabbing a Lyft to the wedding (or ask your hotel if they have a shuttle – some do!)

DATE AND TIME

7:00pm, Saturday, the 7th of July, 2018. (7/7 at 7! That was unintentional, but hey. It’s easy to remember!)

ADDRESS AND DIRECTIONS

TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATIONS

AIRPORT & TRANSFERS

The Minneapolis St Paul International Airport is right in the middle of the Twin Cities Metro Area (the twins being Minneapolis and St Paul). It is BY FAR the most convenient airport to use.

There is always a long line of cabs waiting to pick people up near baggage claim. We also recommend using Lyft as an alternative to taxis (it’s like Uber, but seems to be better around here). If you use this link to set up your account, you’ll get $5 off your first ride: https://www.lyft.com/invite/STEVIEHARMONY

HOTELS

In order to accommodate the number of out of town guests traveling for our wedding, we have set up room blocks at a number of hotels in downtown St Paul. There are different price points, so feel free to choose the option that best suits your needs!

The blocks are for Friday and Saturday nights, July 6-7, 2018. There may be additional fees for reservations with more than two people per room. Rates do not include tax. If you plan to come early or stay longer, discounted rates should apply.

Please make your reservations by June 1st to make sure you get the best rates possible. If rooms are sold out in our block, please let us know. We may be able to add additional rooms!

FOOD

If you’d like to grab dinner before the festivities with fellow revelers, here are some of our favorite local restaurants:

      • Victor’s 1959 Cafe – Serving ridiculously delicious Cuban food, this place is pretty tiny, so probably better for smaller groups. It also has our favorite breakfast in town, but they don’t take breakfast reservations, so be prepared to get there EARLY, or to enjoy a bit of a wait. (super casual)
      • Punch Pizza – The Neapolitan pizza here is super yummy, and they’ve gained some national recognition (the owner was invited to one of Obama’s State of the Union addresses) for paying all of their employees living wages. Our favorite is the Toscano D.O.C. (Cut) with a large Punch Salad. The closest to downtown St Paul is probably the Grand Ave Location. (super casual)
      • Red Stag Supperclub – Housed in a LEED-renovated warehouse in Northeast Minneapolis (our Arts District), Red Stag specializes in organic and local food. They’re far from the only restaurant in town to specialize in local food, but more than most others, Red Stag serves delicious, hearty food you can really dig in to. This place is more expensive than Victor’s or Punch (with entrees ranging from $14-28), but it’s SOOO good.

AROUND TOWN

      • 5 JULY 2018 – Minnesota Twins vs. Baltimore Orioles. Target-Field_smWhether you’re visiting Minnesota for the first time or a diehard Twins fan, there’s nothing like a summer night out at Target Field! We’re reserving a group of tickets for Thursday, July 5th.
Tickets are $38 each and each includes a seat (obviously), as well as a $10 food/drink credit. Let us know how many tickets you’d like to buy – kids are welcome (But because the tickets are already discounted, kids seats are not any cheaper. Sorry!)
